About Your Inspection

When you purchase an RV Inspection from Art Horton LLC, Quality RV Inspections, you can expect it to take several hours. You don’t need to be present, but it’s great if you can be.   In order to receive the best results, the RV needs to have full hookups, (30 or 50 amp shore power, city water and sewer) it’s not a deal breaker if sewer is not available.

The refrigerator (if not residential type) should be running for at least 12 hours or more before the time of the scheduled inspection. There should be fresh water in the tank and in the water heater, propane in the tank (at least 1/3 full) and a hose connected to the city (or well) water.

Your inspection focuses on safety, function, and form, and it provides a comprehensive examination of the RV from the roof to the tires and from the exterior sidewalls to the interior appearances and appliances.   See the Service Agreement page for specific points of inspection.

Once the inspection is completed and the fluid samples taken (highly recommended, it would be like having your annual physical and the doctor not taking a blood sample), you will be emailed a PFD inspection report within 24 hours.  The fluid samples are sent to the lab, the lab takes between 5-7 days to provide the comprehensive report.  Art will call you to review the report and answer any questions you may have and give you feedback.

RV D@ily Report

To inspect or not to inspect, what RVers told us

Most people wouldn’t purchase a home without hiring a trained professional to thoroughly inspect it. An inspection can show the unseen; the problems that lurk within the walls, under the shingles or in the foundation.

The same is true for your RV. An inspection by a qualified RV inspector can uncover what is hidden from the eye. Yet, many people do not get an RV inspected before they purchase it, despite the fact that, in some cases, these units cost nearly as much as a sticks-and-bricks home.

Certified RV inspectors can help prospective buyers make informed purchase decisions as they examine the overall condition of the vehicle and report their findings, even if the only thing uncovered is a minor cosmetic issue.

RV Daily Report recently launched a survey to hear more about RVers experiences with RV inspections. The following is what we learned:
